Daisy-Mae

Nothing much is going on. Daisy's saddle is in the shop to get new stirrup buckles, so I'm not riding as much. Mostly bareback. I just liked this picture of her in the woods and I thought I'd post it. PLEASE DO NOT BE SHY! I LIKE COMMENTS! PLEASE KEEP COMMENTING, PEOPLE! I like to know who visits my blog and what they think.

Grazing

I am getting used to taking Daisy out to graze in the long grass for a little while every day. Now that school is out I hope to do it more ofton. She really loves the grass. We let some of our lawn grow long and she eats it off with gusto. We ordered temporary fencing and we are planning on fencing off the grass so she can be out during the day. These pics. are just of her grazing.

An Equine Visitor

Shania and her mommy (her blog is here) came and visited a few weekends ago. Daisy was very excited to see another horse and went trotting and prancing with her ears up to Shania. The sniffed noses, let out a squeal, and off we went. Daisy liked the short visit very much, and can't wait for the next one :-).

From Bareback, to Bareback Pad

I am getting used to taking an evening ride on Daisy bareback down the driveway. I've been looking at a bareback pad on Stateline Tack and I really liked it, and since we have money on Paypal right now from selling my American Girl Doll stuff on ebay, we bought it! Blue flame. I have seen it in the magazines before I even had Daisy and I have admired them. I really like it. It came on Friday in the mail. Daisy doesn't seem to mind it either. It's really soft. So that's how I went from bareback to bareback pad. We have been going on short rides almost four times a day! I just couldn't help myself. It's at the point where if I turn her to go in the woods she doesn't want to go and we have an argument. Luckily, I always win. I don't want her to think she is the "boss". In the fifth picture down from the top you can see me mounting with my "mounting block", a.k.a., a tree stump. But it works just as well and is a lot $cheaper$ (hehehehe), so..... Daisy gave pony rides to 5 kids Friday night. The family had come for dinner, and so they "rode" with me leading them. I am very happy to say that Daisy was great, she just went along and behaved even better then she does with me. With this I mean that she stood at the mounting block for longer periods without moving, which, if I get on, doesn't happen. All is well. I am very happy, and I think Daisy likes it here by now, too.
