Not Really Daisy News, but......

Ok, so, hence the title, this is not a post about Daisy, but I thought I'd share. I went to a show with Daisy's old owner 2 weeks ago to help with her horse. The horse on the left of me is her horse, Fat Chance, a.k.a., Bubba. The horse on the right is Celtic Rose, a.k.a., Rosie. It was a lot of fun to go. I helped out with Bubba while the owners walked the course, and Daisy's old owner's cousin took Rose. They are both such good horses. It was pouring (notice the rain jacket), and we waited about 45 minutes to an hour before it stopped, and then they ended up cancelling the class!!! So, here I am , walking the horses to ease their minds. I must say, it's a good thing they get along, because otherwise I would have had a lot of trouble. They cooperated very well, though, thank goodness.
Anyway, not really about Daisy, but it's a post!

Little Injury Pics.

This is the injury. She cut the bottom of her hoof at a very sensitive part called the frog, probably with a piece of glass on the road or a very sharp stone. A friend of ours came and helped us fix her up. Thank you! She is doing MUCH better. She still limps a little if she trots, but by next week I plan on riding again! We had to soak it in the salt, dry it, but antibiotic cream on it, and tape it. I still soak it every day. Luckily, it is already re-growing in some places. Anyway, these pictures are a little late, but you see something of it.

Bows and Injuries

Ok, I know this looks weird. I braided Daisy's forelock and put her cute little halter on and took pictures....actually, my mom did. Anyway, I thought they looked cute, so here they are. Daisy, of course, would not put her ears up even for some grass, so here she is in her normal mode-with ears back. On a sad note, Daisy somehow cut her the bottom of her hoof, and is now lame. She is okay on grass, but the minute the ground gets uneven or there are stones, she has to limp across the ground. I am soaking her hoof twice a day now in Epsom salt. I did it the first time before, and she was fine for about 15 min, at which point she suddenly flipped out and knocked her bucket out of the stall! :-) She is so full of it! I love her anyway. So, this little injury means no riding! And we were finally getting to a point where we would be able to do a 3 1/2 mile ride around our roads, which I call "The block". This is setting us back.......oh well, one day we will do it. I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. Have a good week!

Racing Home

Click to enlarge them! They look much better!!

Daisy loves to run. We always ride halfway down the driveway and gallop full speed back up. She loves it!!! She is quite fast. I just happened to notice that there is also Quarter Horse racing, not just Thoroughbred racing....hmmm ;-)......I'm kidding.

Don't forget, you can enlarge them! :-) Have a great week, everyone!

Daisy gives pony rides all the time. Whenever a family comes to visit, the kids get a pony ride, night or day!! These are pictures of just a few of Daisy's passengers!
